Q. How does the YMCA of Simcoe/Muskoka 50:50 draw work?
 
The 50/50 draws administered by the YMCA of Simcoe/Muskoka, are licensed by the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO), where individuals purchase ticket(s) for the opportunity to win 50% of the total money raised through the sale of 50/50 tickets.

Q. Where does the other 50% of the proceeds raised go?
 

The other 50% of the proceeds raised support the ongoing operational costs to run the YMCA programs and services of Simcoe/Muskoka. To learn more about the YMCA of Simcoe/Muskoka, please visit www.ymcaofsimcoemuskoka.ca
 
Q. Who is eligible to buy 50/50 draw tickets?

If you meet the following criteria, you are eligible to purchase 50/50 draw tickets:

·      Must be 18 years of age or older at the time of purchase

·      Must be located in the Province of Ontario at time of purchase

·      Must not be one of the following:

o      A current member of the YMCA of Simcoe/Muskoka's Board of Directors

o      An active or on leave member of the YMCA of Simcoe/Muskoka Leadership Team

o      An active or on leave member of the YMCA of Simcoe/Muskoka Marketing/Philanthropy

o      department. 

o      An employee of the Alcohol Gaming Commission of Ontario

o      An employee of Bump 50:50

Note: Before purchasing a ticket online, you will be required to verify your eligibility and that the information is complete and accurate.
 
Q. Can I play more than once in a game?
 
Yes. You can purchase more than one ticket per event or game.


Q. What are the odds of winning?
 
The odds of winning the prize are based on the number of tickets sold.
   

Q. Do I have better odds online?
 
Tickets can ONLY be purchased online, and therefore the odds of winning the prize are based on the number of tickets sold.
 
Q. How is the winning number drawn?
 
A unique winning number is randomly generated and issued by the electronic 50/50 system out of the numbers purchased online for that particular draw. The mechanism for selecting the winning number is a computer-based random number generator that has been certified by the AGCO.
  
Q. When is the winning number drawn and posted?
 
50/50 Ticket Sales close at Midnight on May 14th, August 14th, November 14th and December 30th. The winning ticket is then selected and announced by 10:00 am on May 15th, August 15th, November 15th and December 31st. Once the winning 50/50 number has been drawn and posted, you can find it and the prize amount:

·      Announced across social media platforms managed by YMCA Simcoe/Muskoka

·      Displayed on the online https://ymcasm.bump5050.com/winners 

·      The winner will also be contacted by phone and email

Q. How do I claim my prize?
 
If you have the winning 50/50 number, please email givingback@sm.ymca.ca. The winner will have to provide their name, address, and two photo ID pieces to verify they were the purchaser of the original ticket. 

The winning ticket and Photo ID will need to be brought to one of our YMCA locations at an agreed-upon time for final ticket verification. The winner will be given a cheque in the amount of the declared prize, which is at minimum 50% of the total sales for the draw. If the winner cannot provide a two pieces of photo ID, then the winning proceeds will be held until identification can be provided.   

Please note: Online ticket sales must be claimed by the individual named in the original purchase transaction. The YMCA of Simcoe/Muskoka is not responsible for any division of the winning prize amount to any other party other than the individual named in the original purchase transaction.
  
Q. What currency is the prize money paid in?
 
All transactions and winnings are Canadian Dollars. The prize will be paid by cheque payable to the winner.
  
Q. When can I expect to receive my winnings?
 
Prize winnings will be paid by cheque within 30 to 45 days of completing the claim process.
  

Q. Do I need to live in Ontario to play?
 
You do not need to live in the province of Ontario to purchase a 50/50 ticket, but you do need to be physically located within the province of Ontario at the time of purchase of your online 50/50 ticket to be eligible to play.
  
Q. How can I pay for my online 50/50 ticket?
 
Our online 50/50 website accepts the following payment types: Visa and MasterCard.

 
Q. I cannot access https://ymcasm.bump5050.com/ What should I do?
 
Per AGCO regulations – please be advised that you must be located within the province of Ontario at the time of your purchase. 

Your device's location services must be turned on to verify your location before entry to the online 50/50 sales platform. Users must also agree to all Terms and Conditions outlined.

 
Q. I purchased a 50/50 ticket but did not get my numbers. What should I do?
 
If you purchased your 50/50 ticket(s) but did not receive your numbers, please check your junk or spam folders in the event it was flagged by your email provider. If you still do not have your 50/50 ticket, please contact Heather MacArthur at givingback@sm.ymca.ca she will resend your raffle numbers (some verification will be required). If your transaction was completed successfully, your numbers will still be part of the draw.
 
Q. I think I, or someone I know, may have a problem with gambling. What should I do?

Q. Why does https://ymcasm.bump5050.com/ require my location and/or why am I receiving the following prompt:  

Example:  https://ymcasm.bump5050.com/ would like to use your current location?
 
Your current location is required to confirm eligibility. The raffle will be offered throughout the Province of Ontario (the "Raffle Area"). Void outside the raffle Area and where prohibited by law, rule, or regulation.
 
Q. What if I already selected "Don't Allow"?
 
Reloading the page should cause you to be prompted to share your location again. If you have specified that you never want to share your location, you will need to go into your settings to allow access. See below for instructions.
  
Q. What if I receive the following prompt: "You must allow your browser to share your location to purchase tickets, please click "OK" to reload this page, then be sure to allow your browser to share your location to share your location when prompted"?

The browser should reload the page and ask you to share location upon loading.
Note: In some browsers, the popup may say "close" instead of "OK"
  

Q: What if I cannot purchase tickets on https://ymcasm.bump5050.com/ due to Location issues?
 
You may have told your browser never to share your location. You need to change that setting to allow the sale.
 

Q. When I am trying to process a transaction, it is not working? What can I do?

Please remember that when you are filling in the personal information at the checkout page, the address you input must match the Credit Card's address that will be used for the transaction. Please ensure all fields are completed correctly.
  

Q. The site is not loading correctly, and I am not able to get to the checkout page; what can I do?

Based on the browser you are on, please go to the settings, then history and clear cookies and cache. Once completed, please close the page, reopen and try again.
 
For iOS devices:
1) Go to the Settings App.
2) Go to Privacy.
3) Go into Location Services.
4) Ensure "Location Services" are on.
5) Scroll down and click "Safari Websites."
6) Make sure that Allow Location Access is set to "While Using the App."
 
Chrome has the same setting if you are using that instead.
 
 For Android (though this may vary by version):
 1) Go to Settings App.
 2) Go to Location and make sure that it is on.
 3) Go back to the previous screen and go to Apps.
 4) Go to Chrome.
 5) Click Permissions.
 6) Ensure that Location is enabled.
 Note: If still experiencing problems, go to maps.google.com in your browser and see where it places you.

Q. I entered the incorrect email and did not print my tickets; how can I get my tickets to resend?
 
Please go to the Contact page and request that the raffle Manager email your tickets.
